Disconnected, 2021.

My project, Disconnected, envisions powerful technology to be at the heart of our distant future. This technology will overshadow every aspect of our lives, unravelling the connection between tangible and simulated realities. We will exist primarily within a virtual network, depicted here as flickering red lines, which will maintain this mind-altering experience.

The narrative explores one character’s journey as he is assimilated into this dark and hypnotic virtual space. However, the call back to nature is still prevalent. He manages to tune himself back into the real world, symbolising humanity’s ability to grow and change. Nevertheless, the video loops back to the beginning, representing our tendency to repeat the past, ending the video on a bittersweet note.
